Brian Chan
Brian Chan is a professional fisheries biologist currently employed by the British Columbia Ministry of Environment where for the past 23 years has worked on trout management in the Kamloops region of the province. Much of his work has focused on managing the literally hundreds of productive small lakes that dot the Kamloops area. He attended Simon Fraser University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in freshwater ecology.

Brian has been an ardent stillwater flyfisher for the past 30 years and has been active in conservation endeavors of the B.C. Federation of Fly Fishers and Kamloops Fly Fishers club for more than 20 years. He has authored one book called "Flyfishing Strategies for Stillwaters" and was one of several authors who contributed to "The Gilly" an introduction to flyfishing B.C. waters. Brian's fly tying was also featured in the recently released book "The World's Best Trout Flies." Brian has also produced two volumes of an instructional video series entitled "Flyfishing Strategies for Stillwaters."

Don Freschi
Don started fly fishing in his teens and his interest in fly-fishing was piqued by the surprise of a fish on the end of the line! It was then the challenge began. After his first homemade fly fell apart he knew there was room for improvement and has been working hard at it ever since.

Don is a co-host on the television series “Sport Fishing On the Fly”. It is the ‘Total Experience’ that keeps Don casting.

Grant Fines
Grant has been fly fishing for over 20 years and initially started because of Don Freschi’s enthusiasm for the sport. Now it is the technical challenge of imitating the different flies and the peaceful surroundings that keep him casting for more.

Grant is a co-host for the television series “Sport Fishing On the Fly”.

Gary Cooper
Host of the popular TV show, Nice Fish, Gary Cooper started 1n 1984 with the production of the educational video " The Hakai Experience". In total he produced 5 educational fishing videos before creating a pilot for television. Since then close to 400 episodes of fishing shows have been produced. Every year he says that this will be the last year. Every year the series "Nice Fish" gets bigger. And so does the company. Today Nice Fish is more of a multimedia production company with a growing clientele as well as an adventure travel agency serving over 2000 clients.

Kathy Ruddick
Kathy Ruddick has been a life-long advocate in the world of fishing, starting to fly fish at the age of 12. As owner of Ruddick's Fly Shop in North Vancouver, she has had ample opportunity to pursue her passion throughout BC and around the world.

Most Vancouverites know her through her weekly radio fishing report with Rafe Mair on radio and through the television series "Reel Adventures" with Dawn Wells, and other guest appearances on fishing shows.  Kathy has taught countless Fly Fishing schools, is a Casting Instructor, and hosts a variety of fishing trips worldwide for virtually any species of fish.

Kathy was the first woman chosen as a member of Team Canada in the World Fly Fishing Competition. Her best standing being in Australia in December 1999 where she Individually placed #10 out of 110 male competitors.

Phil Rowley
Phil's recent book, "Fly Patterns For Stillwaters" is rapidly become the bible for fishing the interior of British Columbia. When Phil is not supplying text and images for the many magazines he contributes to, he spends his remaining time as a guest speaker, doing seminars, spending time with his family and even has some time to fish.
